Back To School - Comedy

John, Peter, Judas and Thomas ponder why they have been called back to school.  Surely it must be to study under a new teacher, as they are all convinced they've learned all they can from Jesus. I've Got a Secret - Comedy

As a contestant on the game show, "I've Got a Secret" Bob Newford definitely has one that he think will stump the panelists: Bob is a pastor and he wants people to know that pastors are people too.  According to Bob, a lot of people think "pastors just sit around all day and pray and read their Bibles.  But there.s a lot more to us than that.  Our job description may be different than most people but inside, we.re just like everyone else, with hobbies, interests, feelings, imperfections and problems."  When the panelists begin to question Bob about his secret, they think they've got him all figured out, but do they really have a clue?  And just where is Bob's Bible and if he's really a pastor, what's he doing on a game show anyway?  Find the answers in this light-hearted look at what being a pastor is really all about. Perfect for Pastor Appreciation days.

Search Committee - Comedy

Set back in Bible times, when a pastor retires from the church to pursue a new and different lifestyle (becoming a shepherd), it's up to the church's search committee to find a suitable replacement.  They throw around names like Moses, Solomon and Samson but they each have various "flaws" that prevent them from being an ideal pastor: Moses gets nervous in front of people and stutters; Solomon has too many wives to house in the church parsonage; and Samson is single and a hippie!  It seems that no person is right for their church, until they remember someone who would be perfect for the job: YOUR pastor.  By using a "fill in the blank" system, this skit allows you to insert the name of your current pastor and honor him/her by speaking of the traits you admire and appreciate most about them.  This humorous skit pays homage to some of the most memorable Bible characters, but leaves room for you to customize and pay tribute to your current pastor.  Perfect for Pastor Appreciation Day or any time you want to give your pastor some encouragement.

Themes: Pastor Appreciation

The Empty Chair - Drama

Using the game "Musical Chairs," this skit illustrates how church may sometimes seem uncomfortable to new Christians or non-believers.  Especially for the non-believer, it may feel like there is no room for him inside the church or no place that he fits in.  The characters in this skit show how "the system" should work and how to keep new people once they've brought them in.

Themes: Making room for non-believers within the church; mentoring young Christians
