Jill:                   So, have you talked to Sharon yet about coming to church with us and playing on the volleyball team?

Patty:               Not yet.  I’ve been waiting for the right time.

Jill:                   Well, that time might be now.  She’s coming over here.

Patty:               I’m not sure what to say her.

Jill:                   Just tell her what you told me when I first joined the team.

Patty:               But it was easier with you.

Jill:                   Why?

Patty:               Because I knew you went to church already. I don’t think Sharon has ever been to church.

Jill:                   Maybe no one has ever invited her before.

Patty:               What if she laughs at me?

Jill:                   Then she laughs.  A little laughter never hurt anyone.

Patty:               I’m nervous.

Jill:                   Do you think God wants you to ask her to come to church with us?

Patty:               Yes.

Jill:                   Then He’ll give you the strength to do it.  Besides, I’ll be right here to support you.  I’ll help in any way I can.

Patty:               Thanks, Jill.  You’re a good friend.

Sharon enters

Sharon:           Hey you two, what’s up?

Patty:               (hesitates) Umm….ummm…

Jill:                   (interjecting) We were just talking about volleyball.  Right, Patty?

Patty:               Right.

Sharon:           Volleyball?  I love volleyball!  It’s my favorite sport.

Patty:               I remember you talking about that in class one day.  I’m sorry you couldn’t play on the school’s team this year.

Jill:                   Yeah, you must have been really bummed when you broke your arm and couldn’t play.

Sharon:           I was, but I guess there’s always next year.

Patty:               Or maybe there’s still time this year.

Sharon:           But volleyball season is over at school.

Patty:               I wasn’t talking about at school.

Sharon:           Where else could I play?  (excited) Does the community center have a team?

Jill:                   Not that we know of.

Sharon:           (disappointed) Oh.

Jill:                   But there is somewhere else in town you would be more than welcome to play.
