Notes:

Some public schools may not allow the performance of this skit because of the strong "religious" theme.  However, an amended version of this skit is also available, called "Love is the Greatest Gift." It replaces "Jesus" with "Love" and stresses the idea that Christmas is a time to remember those we love.

Rudolph: Hey you guys, what's going on?

Santa: Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas!

Frosty: Hi Santa. Hey Rudolph. We were just talking about the reason for the season.

Rudolph: The reason for the season?

Ginger: Yeah, see I found this sign. (holds up note)

Frosty: He thinks he's the reason for the season.

Ginger: And he thinks he's the reason.

Santa: I'm afraid you're both wrong.

Rudolph: Yeah, way off!

Frosty: Why's that?

Santa: Because everybody knows the real reason for the Christmas season is....

Rudolph & Santa: (at the same time) Me! (looking at each other, then speaking at the same time again) You?

Santa: Come on Rudolph, everybody knows I'm the reason we have Christmas. I'm the one who brings the children all their presents.

Rudolph: But without me you wouldn't be able to deliver all the presents. I pull the sleigh!

Santa: Of course you do, Rudolph, and I appreciate the job you do for me, but let's face it, without me there would be no presents to deliver.

Ginger: He's got you on that one, Rudolph.

Rudolph: But I'm the head reindeer and I'm known everywhere. Why, there's even a song about me and my red nose, so I've got to be important to Christmas.

Frosty: There's a song about me too!

Santa: Just one? Please, I've got dozens of songs written about me!

Ginger: Am I the only one without a song? I've got to get a better agent!
